Description

Providing a safe and legal method of holding open a fire door to provide access, the Union DoorSense Fire Door Retainer is the perfect solution for schools, hospitals, nursing homes, and other public buildings. Unlike door wedges, this will ensure an open fire door will is closed at the first signs of a fire emergency. Working with your existing fire alarm system, the wireless fire door holder unit is constantly listening out for your alarm and will automatically release with sounds greater than 80dB which carry on for longer than 15 seconds.

With release sensitivity which can be adjusted to suit your environment, itâs been sound tested of 50,000 times and features a timer which can be set to automatically release the fire door holder, which is ideal for when the building is shut at night. Powered by two C-type batteries with a life expectancy of over 1 year, which are included, it has a low battery indicator and includes a failsafe mode which automatically releases the door.

Suitable for doors up to 160kg and 1600mm wide, it must be used in conjunction with a size 3 to 7 door closure. Quick and easy to install, it retrofits previously installed door release units requiring no electrical wiring. The holder fits with four screws to the door, with the floor plate needing another four. To operate, simply open the door to the floor plate and push the foot plunger down.
