With over 150,000 blanks in stock at any one time, we nearly always have the correct blank key and, with our range of different key machines, we are ready to cut it too. This includes specialist high security locks, patented keys, household keys and car keys.

Our key cutting services are available at all of our branches in Norwich, Ipswich and Colchester and with such a wide range of keys in stock we are confident that we can cut your key. Car Key Cutting

We provide car key cutting services from our Norwich branch.

You can use our onsite parking facilities to leave your car safely with us and we will diagnose directly from your car, using this information to safely and securely programme a new car key. The level of service you require will depend on the age of your vehicle, but we will provide you with a set price before the process begins.

Call us on 01603 216504 for a quote. We’ll need the Make and Model of your car as well as the original PIN which came with the vehicle. If you don’t have this we can get all the information we need from your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

Our State-of-the-Art Facilities

AC Leigh specialises in producing a range of new and copy keys

With our state-of-the-art key cutting facilities able to produce a duplicate key for your car that is as it would be from the factory. Our machine will calculate the original factory depths of the key, producing a copy that is as good as it was from the factory. We can quickly and cost effectively program the chip and remote in your new car key, leaving you with a fully functional car key. The chip and transponder device that communicates with the immobiliser of your vehicle will be programmed along with the remote.

Q: How does key cutting work?

A: Key cutting involves duplicating an existing key using specialist machinery and computers. There are both traditional key cutting machines, whereby the original key is placed in a machine that traces its shape onto a blank key, and then creates a copy with the same cuts and grooves. There are also programmed keys, such as modern car keys, that require keys to be programmed.

Q: Can all types of keys be duplicated?

A: Most house keys, office keys and general building keys can be duplicated. Although some are more high-security and may require specific equipment or authorisation.

Q: How long does cutting a key take?

A: It depends on the key: it can take anything from a few minutes (for traditional keys) to a few hours and up to a day. At AC Leigh we commit to delivering key cutting the same day or, for more tricky keys, the next day.

Q: What information is needed to cut a key?

A: We will need the original key and, for high-security or restricted keys, we will also need proof of ownership or authorisation.

Q: Does key cutting make reliable duplicate keys?

A: Yes, at AC Leigh all of our key cutting creates high-quality duplicate keys that will be as reliable as the original. We have highly-experience key cutters and the latest in key cutting machinery, making our service second-to-none.
